Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Elevio Solutions ("we," "us," "our"), operating as Polyglot Translate Cloud ("Polyglot Cloud"), uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at polyglot-translate.cloud ("the Website"). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be "persistent" (stored until expiry or manual deletion) or "session" (deleted when you close your browser).
2. Cookies We Use
We use a minimal set of cookies, all of which are strictly necessary or functional. We do NOT use any advertising, tracking, analytics, or third-party marketing cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|---|
session_token | Authentication — keeps you logged in to your account. Without this cookie, you would need to log in on every page. | Strictly Necessary | Session / 7 days | Polyglot Cloud (first-party) |
wglang | Language preference — remembers the language you selected in the Polyglot Lens language picker so the Website displays in your preferred language on return visits. | Functional | 1 year | Polyglot Cloud (first-party) |
cookie_consent | Records your cookie consent preference (accepted / rejected) so we do not show the cookie banner on every visit. Stored as a versioned JSON record ({"value":"accepted","v":"1","ts":<timestamp>}) with mirror in localStorage. If the policy version changes, the banner is shown again so you can re-consent. | Strictly Necessary | 1 year | Polyglot Cloud (first-party) |
3. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser localStorage for the following purposes:
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
polyglot_cache_* | Caches translated page content locally so that subsequent visits in the same language load instantly without making API calls. | Until cleared by user |
auth_token | Stores the authentication JWT token for API requests from the dashboard. | Until logout or expiry |
localStorage data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to third parties.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We do NOT set any third-party cookies. However, the following third-party services may set their own cookies when you interact with specific features:
- Cloudflare — may set cookies such as
__cf_bmfor bot management and security purposes. These are strictly necessary for security and cannot be disabled. See Cloudflare's Cookie Policy. - Lemon Squeezy — if you interact with payment/checkout pages (hosted on lemonsqueezy.com), Lemon Squeezy may set its own cookies. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
We have no control over third-party cookies. Please consult the respective third-party privacy policies for information on their cookies.
5. Cookies We Do NOT Use
For transparency, we confirm that we do NOT use:
- Google Analytics or any analytics cookies
- Facebook Pixel, Meta tracking, or social media tracking cookies
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, AdSense, etc.)
- Session replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.)
- A/B testing cookies
- Any cookies that profile your behavior across third-party websites
6. Legal Basis
6.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies (No Consent Required)
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and GDPR recital 30, cookies that are strictly necessary for a service explicitly requested by the user (such as authentication) do not require consent. Our session_token and cookie_consent cookies fall into this category.
6.2 Functional Cookies
Our wglang cookie stores your language preference, which is a functional cookie. Under most interpretations of the ePrivacy Directive, language preferences are considered part of the service explicitly requested by the user. Nevertheless, we disclose its use here and provide instructions for removal below.
7. Managing Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions
Please note: If you delete the session_token cookie, you will be logged out of your account. If you delete the wglang cookie, the Website will revert to its default language.
To clear localStorage data, use your browser's Developer Tools (F12) → Application → Local Storage → polyglot-translate.cloud → Clear All.
8. Do Not Track (DNT)
We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. Since we do not use any tracking or advertising cookies, our site already operates in a privacy-respecting manner regardless of your DNT setting. There is no behavioral tracking to disable.
9. Children
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly place cookies on devices of children. See our Privacy Policy Section 9 for details.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we add new categories of cookies (such as analytics or advertising), we will update this page and, where required, obtain your consent before placing such cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
